Ever meet an artifact that you just couldn't find a spot for?
The Main Street Museum hasn't.
We are a depository designed to study, exhibit, and preserve items just like the ones listed above. In fact, The Main Street Museum's collection includes all of the above mentioned artifacts, and over one thousand more, exhibited at our rooms in downtown White River Jct. and at sundry academic institutions as well.
We actively seek out items from public and private collections in all categories—in poor (or worse) condition, no matter how buggy, frayed, water or smoke damaged.
Artifacts such as these have value that is clearly non-monetary. All find a cherished spot in our glass cases and cabinets. Don't let "Antiques Road-show" set our standards for us. Remember, it's up to Us!
Catawiki
The Main Street Museum's varied holdings are in the process of being digitally cataloged and presented in an interactive "wiki" format. In other words, our catalog, and much of the label material here in the physical Museum, will resemble "Wikipedia"and reside within the Museum website. Visitors and guests will be able to modify it and add to it. Enter the evolving Catawiki by clicking here. To stay informed of developments, join our mailing list.
